Meetup 7 – O’ Charger, Where art thou?

The 7th meetup was held again at Withdean Sports complex. This time we used the East entrance overflow car park which we had almost completely to ourselves. This event was also used to mark the 1st birthday of the club and also the club winning the trophy for Best Electric Vehicle Club 2019. It was a great day out with lots of chat and lots of cake. In total we had around forty cars in attendance including two Tesla Model 3’s and a gen 1 Roadster. There was also a rather lovely orange iPace.

#EV Electric Vehicles Festival 2019

The first ever Electric Vehicle Festival was held on the 28th July at the British motor museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire. In spite of the poor weather early on, the turnout was exceptional. More than 150 cars on display and lots of great conversation with the general public. For a first outing, the professionalism of the event was excellent. This should prove to be a great annual event for the community to get involved in. Massive thanks to Paul Middlicott for organising this. Very well done.

Meetup #5 No Mr Bond I expect you to charge.

Another brilliant meetup with some great people. This was the 5th meetup for Sussex EVs and the 1st for our affiliated club Surrey EVs. The weather was excellent and the conversation was even better. I lost count of the numbers but at one point I made it 45 cars. So very similar to the Brighton figure. Very special thanks to Zita for the amazing bagels and cake. We all owe you a lot for all your hard work. That was great. Also a massive thank you to Warren for managing to wangle a Kia E-Niro for test drives. That is a seriously nice solid card which is silly quick but very refined with it.

Already looking forward to the next one. See you all soon.
